For E-series, Final aimed for a product series that would last for years. Final wanted to develop a series that experienced users and beginners can both enjoy. By integrating acoustic engineering and psychological research together, Final successfully created a series that has high reputation in terms of sound quality, design, comfort and value.
E5000 uses a single high precision 6.4mm dynamic driver with rigid stainless steel shell with a mirror finish. The stainless steel shell firmly supports the driver unit and reduce unnecessary vibrations. The simple shape design and high-quality finish of E5000 matches the clear sound quality it offers. There is an acoustic resistor inside the rear housing of the driver unit, and this controls the low mid-range frequency characteristics that determine the framework of the sound quality. At the end is a pipe bent into an L-shape (acoustic chamber) for tuning. This design allows E5000 to achieve a balance between the volume of low frequencies and clarity. With E5000, no particular sound ranges have been emphasized, and this, together with Final's commitment to detailed sound expression, results in realistic sound that sounds as if it were being played right in front of you. Compared to E3000/E2000, a purer, subtler sound is achieved. When you listen, the sound appears laid-back and gives the user a comfortable listening experience. The sound has a sense of realism to it; you can feel the breath in the vocals and every single guitar distortion.
E5000 adopts an MMCX connector and comes with high-purity OFC silver coated cables that provide a wide sound stage. The cables were originally designed by and are currently manufactured by the well-renowned Junkosha corporation for the purpose of being used with the supercomputer "Kei" due to their fast signal transmission speed. The insulator film is made from PFA which was also developed by Junkosha who used their extensive know-how through the JUNFLON® brand to create the ultimate in low-permittivity material. The outer tube is made from PVC for maximum flexibility. The user will experience surprising flexibility that both makes the cable extremely easy to use as well as reducing the likelihood of microphonics.
With their swing fit mechanism, the eartips can be swung left and right and tilted towards the audio canal for a perfect fit. These prevent changes in shape owing to the aperture of the eartips coming into contact with the audio canal. The sound is transmitted directly to the eardrum, delivering clear sound. The interchangeable silicone ear tips also yields a comfortable fit and a high level of sound insulation. The ear tips comes in 5 sizes – SS/S/M/L/LL. To make it easier to distinguish between the left and right earphones, one axis of the eartips is gray while the other is red.
By tilting the earphones slightly and checking their color, it is easy to distinguish left from right even in a dim place.
The ear hook that Final designed has a smaller form. It does not utilize metal or resin wires and fit the ears of most people. The ear hook is slim and comfortable that you might forget you're wearing them. Cable noise – the unpleasant noise that occurs when the cable touches the user's body when they are walking – is dramatically reduced when using ear hooks. Soft, flexible coated cable material also help on this.
